Sports intelligence, one agent payment away

At Machina, our goal has always been to build the sports intelligence layer for humans and AI agents.

That means more than giving an AI model access to scores. It means making sports understandable and usable: connecting teams, players, fixtures, performance, and context so an answer comes with evidence, not just confidence in how it is written.

But intelligence is only useful if it can reach the people and products that need it. For agents, access has often meant stopping at a signup form, asking a developer to configure an API key, or relying on an integration someone built in advance.

Our partnership with ZeroClick opens another path.

Through agents.machina.gg, agents can discover Machina’s sports intelligence, read the available services and prices, and pay for individual calls. No signup or API key is required for pay-as-you-go access.

What agent-to-agent commerce actually means

An agent working on a task should be able to obtain the specialist intelligence it needs along the way.

Imagine asking a sports assistant to explain a player’s World Cup performance. Instead of relying only on its training data, the assistant could identify the player, retrieve performance context from Machina, and use that evidence to build its answer.

The commercial interaction can happen within that workflow:

  1. Discover the available sports intelligence.
  2. Check the service description and price.
  3. Pay for the call using an authorized payment method.
  4. Receive structured, source-cited JSON to use in the task.

ZeroClick supports that payment flow through open protocols including x402 and MPP, handling identity, payments, and usage metering around the call. Agents can purchase within the authority their operator has granted or involve a human when approval is needed.

This is the practical meaning of agent-to-agent commerce: software buying a specific capability from another service to complete a job.

Why a small payment is a big shift

The important change is not simply that an agent can spend money. It is that access to specialist intelligence can become part of the task itself.

A general-purpose assistant does not need to become a sports data platform. A developer testing a new fan experience does not need to commit to a subscription before making a first request. A workflow can buy the particular context or content it needs, when it needs it.

For people, that can mean better answers with less setup. For builders, it lowers the commitment required to experiment. For specialist providers like Machina, it creates a way to serve agents directly, not only through applications with preconfigured integrations.

Agents become customers of sports intelligence, not just interfaces for displaying it.

What agents can buy today

The first catalog covers Machina’s 2026 World Cup Intelligence build, with three service categories:

  • Match Context · $0.01 per call
Team and player identification, fixtures, standings, squads, injuries, and player performance context.

  • Forecasts · $0.12 per call
Dixon-Coles match forecasts and historical backtests for examining model performance.

  • Finished Content · $0.40 per call
    Match recaps and player spotlights.

Responses are structured for machine use, with source provenance and coverage indicators, plus model confidence and caveats where applicable. Forecast and market outputs are informational research, not betting recommendations.

The tournament is complete, so this initial catalog is a historical resource for building, exploring, and testing sports experiences. Live data coverage is the next planned expansion.

Built for humans. Accessible to their agents.

Our ambition is not for every person to learn how sports data infrastructure works. It is for the right intelligence to be available inside the experiences they already use.

Sometimes that means a fan asking a question. Sometimes it means a broadcaster preparing a story. Increasingly, it will mean an agent finding and purchasing the intelligence on someone’s behalf.

Machina provides the sports intelligence. ZeroClick makes it discoverable and purchasable by agents.
